why yellow is the color of 2026 (and the real reason I chose it)

We didn't pick yellow for the lemonade drop because it photographs well against a Porsche (although, it does). We picked it because the color psychology of 2026 caught up to what loud minds is built on — what you wear changes how you feel, and quieting yourself down doesn’t make us feel good in the long run (speaking from experience here.)

★ dopamine dressing is bigger than a tiktok trend ★

"Dopamine dressing" started as a post-lockdown moment — people trading years of monochrome for color, on purpose. By 2026 it's now stopped being a phase and turned into something closer to a philosophy: dressing for your nervous system, not just because influencers told you to.

The psychology behind it is called enclothed cognition, WTF does that mean? The theory that what you wear can actually shift your mental state, not just how you look. Colour psychologists have long linked sunshine yellow specifically to optimism and creativity, the same way reds and oranges read as energy and confidence. What's on your body talks back to your mind.

This brand came from my own loud mind, and from my brother's — his is even louder than mine, and he's autistic. Growing up alongside how his mind works taught me that different, and loud, isn't something you quiet down. It's something you build a life around! >>>

And color works the same way. Wearing something that actually makes you feel like yourself isn't vanity, it's regulation. It's the same instinct that built this brand from day one, just showing up in color.

We're not entirely chasing a palette because a trend report told us to, although it’s considered we design to disrupt, not to follow suit — that's the whole point of this brand, and it's not changing because the season does!

So don't expect the lemonade drop to be a one-off. Expect more color, on our communities' terms, not whenever the industry says it's "in."
